BMW 800cc Scooter |
Rumours are floating around the internet. It is reported to be 800cc Rotax/Bombardier-designed engine featuring a twin CVT driveline. BMW have not confirmed that the pictured model will go into production. But the reports are the maxi-scooter; will be named the SCT 800 Superscooter. It will feature a rear shock absorber placed under the engine at the back. The wheels measure 16 inches, the brakes are double disc at the front and single disc at the rear, both with ABS.  The engine will be a twin cylinder, four valve engine of about 800cc, with power at nearly 70hp. Which isn't really anything to write home about.... "ooooh look I'm thinking about making a maxi-scooter that will have less HP than the Gilera GP800!" We at Thescooterreview.com seriously hope that with all the amazing engineering skill available at BMW they manage to develop a few more horsepower. especially if BMW product the scooter with the reported factory GPS unit and lots of 'extras'. That all means weight - The GP800 weighs 235kg and produces 75hp. BMW's goal should either more power, or less weight than their direct competitor if they want to win the battle of the superscooter. More power and less weight, more extras would even better!
