Yamaha Jog Tuning guide |
Getting a new scooter is great fun, riding it around saving both time and money always puts a smile on my face. The Yamaha CV50 is still our favorite sensibly priced 50cc scooter and it’s pretty difficult to fault, but like most 50cc scooters, I immediately yearn for more power. Well thankfully this is the scooter review and we don’t believe in standard...  We very much believe in tuning. The plan for our fresh CV50 Jog was always to tune it to such ridiculous levels, that normal sane people will view it and imagine we’ve lost or collective minds. First step run it in. This is finally completed and with around 1000kms on the clock we’ve given it our usual round of testing. Here’s the results.  0-50kph – 8.9 seconds Top speed – 61kph MPG – 80 Lap time – 42 seconds Dyno – 3.8 Horsepower at the wheel   So these are our baseline results for a Yamaha CV50 Jog, hopefully we’ll shatter them quickly with our first round of modifications. Here’s the plan... Stage 1 Power increase – Exhaust, CDI, rollers and jets. Stage one is the typical 50cc modification and hopefully we’ll getter a faster top speed and improved acceleration. Check back soon as the mods are days away and we’ll post the results asap.   By the way...stage 4 could involve multiple cylinders and Nitrous! Hold on to your hats, it’s going to get crazy.  |
