Suzuki powering up the Burgman |
The team at Suzuki have developed Burgman 650 about as much as possible. It has only had minor changes since 2002. So now what? The Scooter Review had learned that Suzuki has started developing a 900cc model, hopefully for 2009/2010. Which is a important if Suzuki are to keep up with Gilera's GP800 in the maxi class of scooters. The engine chosen is reported to be 900cc or a bit above, two-cylinder flat, featuring electronic injection. This type of engine should provide around the 90 hp making it the most powerful in its class, ahead of Gilera GP800. The Scooter Review is looking forward to reviewing a 900cc verison, Let's wait and see if Gilera pick their game, and repower the GP800.  Comments

Yes, please, and with 17" wheels, increased fuel tank to 20+ litres and adjustable seat fore-and-aft, plus selection of windscreens to suit new riders.

My 2002 Burgman has been a revelation to the local motorbikers: so Suzuki, lets move smartly into the 21st century with proper weather protection, adequate under-seta storage and the capacity to show how outmoded the 19th century chain-driven motorbike really is. Over to you. report abuse

Optional heated grips and heated seat (for those ready to pay for these) would save buyers the hassle of installing their own.
Ditch that useless manual shifting option (to clean up the left grip area), but keep the power mode for passing.
Put a Fiamm horn on it, and stop screwing around with tinny little noisemakers.
Don't cut back on that excellent underseat storage!
