Clone Wars? Plastic VBB |
Many have tried... most have failed, but every so often one succeeds. A legitimate, quality homage to the vintage metal and geared machinery of the '50's/'60's  Vmoto managed it with the Milan JX50 (All our American readers should get a chance to own one soon) and now it looks like an American company have pulled one out of the bag. ^^^the original Vespa VBB^^^ The Venti 150 (there is rumor of a 50cc version in the works) is a plastic bodied, automatic (twist 'n' go) copy (is copy too harsh? no that's what it is) of the Vespa VBB. And you know what... it looks pretty damn good. It is powered by a reliable 150cc 4stroke engine that apparently will propel the machine to 55+ MPH and meet all the emissions regs. With quality control being handled by the importer... not the factory this may be a bike that starts making inroads into the bad rep (often deserved) that Chinese built scooters has in the US. If it is anything as good as the Vmoto product quality wise, the styling will stand it in good stead to move some serious numbers. Looks like it will be for sale later this year. Â
