Kymco / Bug

 

Founded in 1963 to manufacture parts for Honda, Kymco is the trade name for the Kwang Yang Motor Co, Ltd is a Taiwanese company that produces scooters, motorcycles and ATV’s. It is the largest scooter manufacturer in Taiwan.

Kymco built their first bike in 1970 and started using the “Kymco” brand name in 1992. The company employs some 3000 employees in it’s Kaohsiung factory and produces over 480,000 machines every year. Kymco also has international production facilities in Indonesia and China.

In Oceania (New Zealand and Australia) Kymco scooters are branded as “Bug Scooters”
