A sneak preview of one of Kymco's new machines... due to be unveiled officially at next months EICMA show in Milan. This tiem Kymco is going to take you "Downtown" with their entry into the 300cc market which appears to be the new segment to be in if you are a scooter manufacturer.
Is this the future? It could well be if Suzuki R&D have their way. Now don't be offended with this short blurb... It has oft been said that to ride a maxi scooter such as the venerable Burgman you have to be more... shall we say... mature. So, the young, hip crowd which I unfortunately drift further away from by the day don't buy 'em...
INTERMOT saw the Taiwanese manufacturer unveil their prototype electric scooters. With soaring oil prices affecting most private transport consumers are looking for more options and Sym is providing...well hopefully soon. Based on the Mio 100. The prototype uses a brushless electric motor with the energy coming from a Lithium battery, rather than the cheaper and more commonly used sealed lead acid batteries. We believe this is a first for electric scooters. As soon as Sym start mass-production, we'll get our hands on one and test out it.
This may be blatant sensationalism, as I have very little information as to what the pics relate to but the fact of the matter is they are too sensational not to show. These appear to be leaning further than a MotoGP sports bike... that may be illusion too but either way they sure are going seriously hard!
